Usbliter8 is a hardware security flaw and exploit found on Apple A12 and Apple A13-based devices. It targets devices like the iPhone XS, XR and 11. Usbliter8 is the successor of checkm8, a prior major exploit that targeted devices ranging from A5 all the way to A11. The exploit was introduced in June 2026.

To exploit the device, a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 along with an OTG adapter and a Mac/Windows/Linux PC with an exploiting software installed, like Bookra1n Ramdisk.

Usbliter8 allows to gain full control over the device, enter SSH ramdisks, pwn the device, execute code, and bypass Activation Lock on vulnerable models.
